lyrics
I came unto
The mirror: myself
Called through distance, salted skies, here it is
Stretching blank
The rolling glass
Beyond crushing terror rests
In twilight wrath
Earth released
A haste-bound raft of dried drowned wood
I’ve clamored to
Reach an ending
Down the depths sustaining me
But no burial rites
Recall misfortune
For solitary death at sea
One against
The waves in chorus
Who push against in voices known
“We love you and await your return”
I won’t
Every douse and dip
Every contact
Rip the warmth from my skin
Dripping life
Dispersed in motion
Disappear in churning blue
“We love you and await your return”
I won’t
“We love you and await your return”
For so long I feared this moment
Played familiar in swirling thoughts
Above, below, suspends unending
Drawing me through blues apart
Drawing me through blues apart
Came unto the mirror: myself
Tracing fingers leave no mark
Stretches endless as new life writhing
Drawing me through blues apart
The flac version of this sounds great in my truck... not a crunch, clip or boom to be heard. That, in itself, gets this major points.
This is a lovely combination of early Floyd, U2 and a few San Francisco bands from the '60s with a heavy dose of Helmet tossed in. It's definitely best of breed when it comes to modern psych stuff. Even without a Hammond B3, it gets an easy A+... rick-taylor
